As a provider of speech, drama, confidence and communication programmes for children and young people, we understand the importance of protecting the privacy of our students, parents, caregivers, staff, contractors and website visitors.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store it and your rights regarding that information.

This Privacy Policy should be read alongside Thrive’s Terms and Conditions and any other Thrive policies that may apply from time to time.

4. Children’s Privacy

The privacy and safety of children is extremely important to Thrive.

Most information relating to students is provided by parents or caregivers.

Parents and caregivers are responsible for ensuring information provided to Thrive remains accurate and up to date.

Please advise us promptly if there are any changes to:

  • Emergency contacts
  • Medical information
  • Learning support requirements
  • Custody arrangements
  • Collection or supervision arrangements

5. Photography and Media

Thrive may occasionally take photographs, videos or recordings during lessons, workshops, performances or events.

Images and recordings may be used for:

  • Sharing learning with families
  • Internal educational purposes
  • Promotional purposes including social media, newsletters, printed materials and the Thrive website

Thrive will only use photographs, videos or recordings for promotional purposes where consent has been provided through the enrolment process.

Parents and caregivers may withdraw consent at any time by contacting Thrive in writing.

When someone visits our website, we may use third-party services such as Google Analytics to collect information about website usage.

This information helps us understand how visitors use our website and allows us to improve our online services.

This information is generally collected in a way that does not personally identify website visitors.

  • Thrive employees, contractors and Area Coordinators
  • Schools hosting Thrive programmes
  • Examination organisations including Speech NZ and Trinity College London

All Thrive employees, contractors and Area Coordinators are required to maintain the confidentiality of personal information.

Thrive uses a number of trusted third-party systems to assist with programme administration and business operations.

  • Monday.com
  • Google Workspace
  • Email and communication providers
  • Website and hosting providers
  • Examination organisations

Some information may be stored securely using cloud-based systems, including systems located outside New Zealand.

Thrive takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration.

Access to personal information is restricted to those who require it for legitimate business purposes.

While we take reasonable security precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Thrive will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Deliver our services

Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or destroyed.

We will investigate all privacy concerns and endeavour to resolve them promptly and fairly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Thrive may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

The most current version will be available on the Thrive website.

Continued use of Thrive services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
